Brazil plays a key role in meeting the demand for animal protein on the planet, a fact that requires the industry to invest in technology to improve processes, reduce costs and get more efficiency in order to be competitive. For that, the Expomeat brings together all the solutions for processing poultry, cattle, pigs, sheep and fish.
Last year, exports of chicken meat amounted to 4.1 million tons, a result 3% higher than in 2013, according to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). The foreign exchange earnings reached US $ 8.08 billion. Converted into Brazilian Reais, the balance was positive in 9%, totaling R$ 19 billion - a new record in the industry. The country is still the world's third largest producer of chicken meat, with more than 12 million tons per year.
Brazilian beef exports reached in 2014 a revenue record of $7.2 billion, 7.7% above the $6.6 billion of the previous year, with a volume of 1.56 million tons, 3.3% more than in 2013, according to the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporters (ABIEC).
The exchange revenue of pork Brazilian exports increased by 16.9% in 2014, totaling US $ 1.6 billion, according to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). Also noteworthy was the strong growth of Real-year revenue, reaching R$ 3.7 billion, 27.1% higher than the total of 2013.
Meat production in Brazil is expected to rise 30% by 2025, to 33.7 million tons, according to the study "Projections of Agribusiness - Brazil 2014/2015 to 2024/2025", prepared by Mapa and by Embrapa.
